Terms of Service
These terms govern use of Inbox Sentinel ("Sentinel", "the service"), operated by Blue Ocean Ventures Inc. ("we"). By signing in or connecting a mailbox, you agree to them.
1. The service
Sentinel is a private email assistant. It watches mailboxes connected by their owner, uses AI to triage incoming email and draft replies, and sends a reply only after the owner explicitly approves it. It is provided for the internal use of Blue Ocean Ventures Inc. and its principal. It is not offered to the public, and access is limited to one authorised account.
2. Eligibility and access
- Only the authorised account may sign in. Any other attempt to sign in is refused.
- You may connect only mailboxes you own or are authorised to administer, through the provider's standard consent screen.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in account secure.
3. Your mailboxes and approvals
- Sentinel requests only read access and send access. It never labels, moves, archives or deletes mail.
- Nothing is sent without your approval. You review every draft, and an approved reply can be undone for 30 seconds before it is sent.
- Replies are sent only within the original thread and from the mailbox the email arrived in. Any recipient who is not already on the thread is flagged and needs a second confirmation.
- You are responsible for the content of any reply you approve.
4. AI output
Summaries, urgency ratings and draft replies are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. They are aids to your judgement, not advice. Drafts are written so that they do not commit you to money, dates, terms or legal positions unless you instruct otherwise, but you must review every draft before approving it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Sentinel to access mailboxes without authorisation, to send unsolicited bulk mail, to break applicable law, or to try to get around its approval and access controls.
6. Data
How Sentinel handles email and account data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Sentinel's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
7. Third-party services
Sentinel relies on Google (Gmail API, Google Sign-In, Cloud Pub/Sub), Microsoft (Microsoft Graph), Supabase, Vercel and Anthropic. Your use of your Google or Microsoft account remains subject to those providers' terms.
8. Availability and changes
The service is provided as-is and may change, pause or be discontinued. Mail can be delayed or missed, for example if a provider is unavailable, so do not rely on Sentinel as your only way to monitor a mailbox. We may update these terms, and the effective date above will change when we do.
9. Ending use
You can stop using Sentinel at any time by revoking its access in your Google or Microsoft account settings. To have stored data deleted, email harry@bov.ai.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and Blue Ocean Ventures Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from its use, including losses from AI output or from replies you approve.
